What we teach

HypnoBirthing is a complete programme of Ante-natal Education, designed by acclaimed Hypnotherapist and Ante-natal Educator Marie Mongan, that helps you to empower yourself for the birth of your baby. We educate woman and their birth companions with the knowledge, practical skills and techniques that produce calm, relaxed and comfortable birth experiences for both mum and baby.

We also teach the birth companion skills to prepare themselves for the support of a woman in labour. This wonderfully special time should be an experience that is remembered with joy and happiness and HypnoBirthing can prepare you in a way that no other ante-natal programme can. We where the first Ante-natal Education Programme to recognise how fundamental the preparation of the mind and body are for birth. The emotional experience of birth is key to the physical experience. Where the mind goes the body follows.

HypnoBirthing combines the use of self hypnosis with childbirth education. This method of natural childbirth preparation is taught by Sonia and Steve. It now has the support of midwives who have seen the relaxed more comfortable births that can results from using these techniques.

In essence HypnoBirthing teaches women that, in the absence of fear and tension, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labour. We teach women and their partners that in the absence of fear or any other negative emotions, birth can be a calm, powerful and intensely positive experience.
